Here you are at Sagi-ike (Heron pond) in Nara Park. The first snowfall of the season has blanketed the area on Feb. 11th, which has given the atmosphere of tranquility with its appearance dusted with powdered sugar. I took these pictures while snow was falling on and off from the leaden sky. Don't they look like Indian-ink paintings?

ReplyDeleteMy wife's aunt called earlier and said it was snowing in Tokyo today!
Stardust.

These photos are beautiful! When was the last time it snowe here in Nara? Yes, they look like
Indian-ink paintings!
Awesome! I love especially the first photo - it's so serene and elegant.

My favourite is the second one... The light is so bright on it : the snow looks even whiter...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful reflections in the first photo and I love the small island look of the second photo with it's crinkly water look and the individual boulders in the pond, such peaceful scenes.
ReplyDeleteI very much like these photos. When snow is just a light dusting it seems to be the most beautiful...and you have captured the beauty here.
ReplyDeleteYou are getting better and better at taking photos. These pictures are beautiful and calm and silent.
ReplyDeleteThe first snowfall of the year in the city of Nara must be a blessing to a lot of photographers. The tourists were reported to have enjoyed the wonderful world created by the snow. Children around my house were having fun making snowman or sleighing. For me,however, one snowy day is enough. How about you?
Thank you, cosmos.
ReplyDeleteI think I need a few more days of snow wonderland. Snow was beautiful and soothing on the first day but the next day it soon melted. I want to enjoy snow scenes under the blue skies.
The sepia tones of the landscape become even more spectacular with the dusting of white. Winter has visited Nara!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous winter landscape scenes at the pond! Fascinating to see both leaves on the tree and snow. The lighting is fantastic ... full of hushed contrast. The first photo, a place to quietly walk. The second photo, a place to stop and think.
ReplyDeleteThe darkened parts give me some particular and deep impression.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these unusual scenes of snowfall in Nara.
Hello
ReplyDeleteYour snowscape photos are so beautiful! It rarely snows in Nara, doesn't it? They remind me of Suiboku-ga paintings! I saw narcissuses blooming in Awaji in your former post. I didn't know that the Awaji island has such a lovely place.
古都は雪が似合いますね。本当にステキな写真をありがとうございます。
reflections in the water, green color mixed with white snow. makes me want to get there as quickly as possible.
